NEW HEARTS MINISTRIES OF ARKANSAS IS A CHRIST-CENTERED, FAITH-VALUE BASED NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT TEACHES BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES AND LIFE SKILLS AND PROVIDES PRACTICAL ASSISTANCE TO WOMEN WHO WERE/ARE INCARCERATED, AND/OR DISPLACED, AND/OR BATTERED WOMEN. NEW HEARTS MINISTRIES HAS A STRONG EMPHASIS ON MENTORING.
My name is Tena Hauk, the Founder and Executive Director of New Hearts, worked as a Program Counselor for a Program of Prison Fellowship Ministries, The InnerChange Freedom Initative Program (IFI) from August 2006 until August 2011 when the Program was shut down due to funding issues. During her employment at IFI, Tena spoke into the lives of many of the women at the Wrightsville-Hawkins Unit and witnessed, first hand, the transformation that often takes place in hearts through the Word of God, love, and acceptance. She continued to be a source of encouragement to many of the women after they were released. After praying and waiting on the Lord, I felt it was time to start the Ministry that the Lord had shown me several years before in a dream. My husband, Jimmy, encouraged me to do whatever the Lord was telling me. After taking that step a friend and her family donated a house and land that will be used eventually for a Christian Transitional Living and Classrooms. After speaking with trusted friends and those in ministry, I took that leap of faith and launched New Hearts Ministries of Arkansas in November, 2011. I give all the Glory and Praise to God for the good things that are happening and I am confident that God will complete the good work he has started. Pray for us, partner with us, as we bring the life changing power of Christ to these women. We will not be able to do this without your prayers and support.
So if any man is in Christ, he is in a new world: the old things have come to an end; they have truly become new.
II Corinthians 5:17
